The right side of the 400 sq.ft. studio is for all jewelry-making activities with the exception of lapidary. Some of the equipment we have on this side includes a casting machine for lost wax casting, a furnace to melt metals, a vulcanizer for making molds, a wax injection machine that allows me to create a wax mold of an existing form, a kiln, my soldering set up with a Smith Little torch and a couple of other torches, a pickle pot, a rolling mill, and a bench for hammering, sawing, filing, gemstone setting, etc. I store all of the materials needed for wax casting, pickling, etc. in the large silver rolling cabinet on the right. The cabinet on on the left contains my shipping supplies and some miscellaneous "other" items.
Down the middle of the studio, on the left, there is a large cubby shelf for storage bins where I keep all of my gemstone beads, silver, beads, findings, gold and silver wire, and other "makers" materials. Adjacent to this shelving unit I have a desk for my iMac where I do all of my business-related work, like building the website, updating the website, taxes, etc. Another desk butts up perpendicularly to my main desk and that is used for carving wax, metal clay, and any other creative activity that does not require the aforementioned tools.
Not shown is the left side of the studio which is primarily for lapidary work. I will show photos of this side when it's a wee bit more organized.
Here is my 10x10 tent setup for local markets and fairs. This is the holiday theme for events in December.
